RetrievalWare® 8.2 Continues the Evolution of Enterprise Search

Vienna, Va., October 10, 2006 – Convera Corporation (NASDAQ: CNVR), a leading provider of search technologies for professional workers, today announced general availability of RetrievalWare® 8.2, the latest version of the company’s leading enterprise search technology. For over 20 years government professionals in the defense and intelligence communities have trusted Convera® technology to provide the most advanced search solutions, and this most recent version builds on that proven heritage. RetrievalWare 8.2 provides more than a dozen performance and productivity enhancements, tailored to specific customer feedback and requests.

Distributed Indexing – Increased performance for large document collections using distributed, parallelized indexing and configurable real time alerting.
Security - New access control plug-in allows for custom document level security implementations and real time validation. Proxy login through Web Services facilitates portal integration.
Search Interface – Search interface deployed as 100% Pure Web Services and delivered as a reference application for quickly developing customized applications
Migration – New tools for easy migrations from earlier versions of the software.
Platform Support – Added support to keep up with the latest platforms and databases, including SQL 2005, Oracle® 10g, Solaris™ 10 and Red Hat® AS 4.
